The VETiS (VET in school) program provides years 10, 11 and 12 with the skills and knowledge required for employment in specific industries. The approved CPC10111 Certificate I in Construction nationally recognised qualification funded by the Department of Education and Training’s VET investment budget can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education.
Foundation skills required to complete a VETiS qualification are resourced by schools, regardless of how the qualification is funded. School students can also undertake a vocational qualification through a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship (SAT), where students are employed while undertaking nationally recognised qualifications.
You will have up to 12 months to complete the CPC10111 qualification as study towards achieving the qualification may be part time to balance your school studies.
VETiS is funded by the VET investment budget and is fee-free for students and does not affect a student’s access to fee-free training for Year 12 graduates or subsidised through the Certificate 3 Guarantee – even if the student has completed a Certificate III level qualification.
